Help living knowledge
find its next audience.

A game can carry the knowledge of a dancer, the imagination of an artisan and the memory of a place.

Help bring ANTARA to new audiences through games, performance, music, illustrated storytelling and artistic research.

Our story / Since 2013

A world built
through encounter.

ANTARA began with Jayalakshmi Eshwar’s dance production and a conversation about flight. As Antariksha Sanchar, it grew into a game prototype, a touring opera, music and a graphic novel.

Epic MegaGrants-supported research has since developed dance capture, museum collaborations, digitisation and worldbuilding in Unreal Engine.

Our next milestone is Chapter One: a 30-minute playable demo targeted for December 2027.

Explore the journey
01

Culture as a creative force

Dance, music and craft shape the world and its gameplay, bringing cultural practice to audiences through play.

02

New lives for collections

Artistic interpretation reconnects objects and histories with the communities whose knowledge gives them meaning.

03

A world with many audiences

Game, stage, page and gallery each offer a distinct audience and a different way to collaborate.

Dancers performing in a luminous digital environment

Patrons & cultural funders

Help independent worlds take shape.

Long-term cultural work needs time for research, practitioner collaboration and artistic development.

Independent games in India face a shortage of patient, risk-taking support.

Patronage sustains artist collaborations, music and dance sessions, residencies, documentation and the making of Chapter One.

Support a focused strand or the wider practice, with scope, acknowledgement and updates agreed together.
Museum documentation and photogrammetry research

Museums, archives, galleries & festivals

Let collections
enter new worlds.

A collection can become an interactive environment, a character, an installation or a live performance.

We welcome collection-based commissions, digitisation, artistic research, public programmes and performance invitations.

Our enquiry into digital repatriation asks how cultural material can reconnect with living practice. Attribution, permissions and relationships with source communities are part of the work from the outset.
